The sword of the Bearslayer, a folk hero of Latvia who was foreseen by the Gods to challenge the crusaders and drive back the Christian invasion of the teutonic order.
At the end of his journey he fought his arch enemy the black knight in a duel. He manages to defeat him but loses his own life in the process. he falls into the river Daugava and his spirit is said to live on in the river and to protect the Latvian people. He is foretold to return and continue his fight for Latvia in the greatest hour of need. This sword was made to tell the story of this old tale and to celebrate its story.
The sword was forged here in Vienkocu parks during a collaberation project between our smith Soeren Uhlmann and guest smith Vladimir Kostalensky from Slovakia.
